Photography was invented about the middle of 1800s. Soon thereafter, the first cameras came to India, and Bombay was documented properly at about the end of 1800s and beginning of 1900s. This exhibition has pictures of Apollo Bunder with Gateway of India, Old Taj Mahal Hotel and Green Mansion which was demolished and the new Taj Mahal Hotel was built. Also picture of Kala Ghoda with King Edwards on a black horse, today this statue is in the Zoo. Also picture of Colaba Railway Station which does not exist today. Also Khada Parsi at the original spot from where it was shifted to the present location at Byculla. And Churchgate station looking like an old house. There are pictures of Colaba with bullock cart, Horniman Circle with horse taxi, Dadabhai Naoroji Road with tram and Flora Fountain with the first cars.
